What is Health Literacy?

Health literacy is about how people find, understand, and use health information to improve their health.

There are two main parts of health literacy:

1. Individual Health Literacy: This is when people can find, understand, and use health information. For example, they can fill out healthcare forms or navigate the healthcare system.

2. Health Literacy Environment: This is when health services create policies, processes, and materials that influence how people interact with the healthcare system.
